Receptionist / Administrator
Pay: Starting at £8.72 p/h
Our multi award winning company is urgently seeking a full-time receptionist/administrator to join our busy Customer Care Team, based in Ipswich town centre.
Established since 1998, The Hearing Care Centre is a well-established audiology business, operating clinics from 27 centres across both Suffolk and Norfolk and looking after thousands of hearing impaired patients.
The overall purpose of this role is to support the day-to-day running of a small but very busy team, as well providing a full receptionist support service to the clinicians who are running their clinics in Ipswich.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Greeting and welcoming patients and visitors with the highest degree of customer service
- Dealing with enquiries and bookings both by telephone and in person in a fast paced environment
- General administration: typing of confidential reports and letters, processing post, placing orders etc…
- Handling transactions using cash and card payments and end of day banking
- Updating the company database in an accurate and timely manner
- Maintaining the appointments diary for patients, across all clinics
- Liaising with the company’s clinical team where necessary
- Keeping the practice tidy and identifying where improvements can be made in customer service, cleanliness and security
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience within a Receptionist/Administration role and be completely computer literate. You will also have previous experience in customer service roles.
The successful candidate will be required to work within the days of Monday – Saturday between the hours of 8.45am and 5.15pm (8.45am-3.15pm Saturday) with one hour for lunch (30 minutes Saturday). The maximum hours of this post are 37.5 per week. The hourly pay starting rate is £8.50 per hour.

Ear Care Practitioners

The Hearing Care Centre is a multi-award winning, family run, hearing care company and we are excited to be expanding our Clinical Ear Care team. We are searching for a Health Care Assistants, Registered Nurses or already qualified Ear Care Practitioners.
This is an excellent opportunity to join our audiology team, providing the highest standards of patient care.
Having received the appropriate training, you will provide safe ear irrigation and microsuction, as well as advising on aftercare and making referrals as required.
Born in 1998 The Hearing Care Centre is a well-established independent practice operating from 27 locations across both Suffolk and Norfolk. This role requires health care, nursing, hearing care/audiology or other medical experience and ideally (although not essential) a recognised qualification. Training in earwax removal techniques will be provided.
You will have proven experience of working with patients in a medical or audiology environment, possess excellent interpersonal and influencing skills. You will also demonstrate strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise. Please note that your own transport is essential as this role will be undertaken from our main Ipswich practice, as well as a number of outside centres and/or patient homes within Suffolk and Norfolk (travel expenses are paid in line with policy).
