Deaf awareness training

As part of our services provided to assist the hard of hearing community, The Hearing Care Centre can provide organisations with a training and awareness solution to enable them to offer an equal level of service to hearing impaired people.
 
We offer generic courses such as 'Introduction to Deaf Awareness for Employees'; these sessions are ideal for employees to learn how to understand and communicate better with hearing impaired customers.
 
Another offering is 'Introduction to Deaf Awareness for Employers'. These are ideal sessions for managers and colleagues of hearing impaired staff members, to learn how to understand and communicate better with their hearing impaired employees. Better communication and understanding leads to better productivity.
 
Our training can also be tailor made and completely bespoke to your requirements, so that specific issues are fully covered - contact The Hearing Care Centre to discuss this in more detail. The courses can be held as either a full or half-day session and they are limited to 12 people per session.
 
All our training sessions aim to identify the barriers that deaf and hard of hearing people face, list the ways in which deaf and hard of hearing people communicate and understand and demonstrate how to implement positive methods of communication. At the end of the training delegates will have a far greater understanding and awareness of the barriers faced by this group of people and how best to converse with them effectively.
 
Training can either be done at your place of work, or we would be more than happy to find and arrange a suitable venue nearby. Catering can also be arranged if required.
