Tinnitus support groups

DSskEw1WAAEITyV.jpgThere is a network of independent tinnitus support groups around the country supported by the British Tinnitus Association (BTA). All support groups are different, but generally the benefits of joining one are:

  • Development of new coping skills
  • Learning new, practical ways of dealing with problems
  • Learning to relax and managing stress
  • Feeling more in control and an increase in confidence
  • Gaining inspiration and support from others

Ipswich Tinnitus Support Group

A support group for people living in or near Ipswich.

Where the group meets

Suffolk House
2 Wharfedale Road

Refreshments are provided and the venue has an induction loop for hearing aid users.

When the group is meeting

  • All meetings are held from 13.30 – 15.30
  • Monday 23rd March
  • ​Monday 29th June
  • Monday 14th September
  • Monday 14th December – Xmas get together

Bury St Edmunds Tinnitus Support Group

A support group for people in Bury St Edmunds to come together in a friendly environment and talk about ways to cope and manage their tinnitus.

Refreshments are provided and the venue has an induction loop for hearing aid users.

When the group is meeting (2019)

​Alternate months, 10:30-12:30

  • Wednesday 15th April

  • Wednesday 17th June: Garden Party with Strawberries & Scones. Presentation from Nic Wray - representative for British Tinnitus Association.

  • Wednesday 19th August

  • Wednesday 21st October: Presentation from group member Heather Fletcher on how hypnotherapy services may help tinnitus. 

  • Wednesday 25th November: Joint end of year get-together with the Hard of Hearing Group. Presentation from Margo Harrison of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.
