One of the region’s biggest ever quiz events managed to raise an incredible amount for this year’s BBC Children in Need appeal.
The Hearing Care Centre joined forces with BBC Radio Suffolk for The Big Suffolk Quiz held on Sunday 10th November 2019. Presented by BBC radio presenter Mark Murphy, the evening was attended by over 350 people across 62 teams. Tickets for the quiz sold out in less than a week, which further demonstrated the event’s popularity.
Thanks to generous support from local businesses, ticket sales and a bumper raffle, £3,072.62 was raised on the night. This was then boosted with an extra £1,000 as a fund-match from the team at Barclays in Ipswich, taking the total to £4,017.61.
The event was held in aid of Children in Need, ahead of their appeal show which takes place on Friday 15th November 2019. The money will go towards the amazing projects that help to change the lives of disadvantaged children and young people all over the country, including many local schemes in Suffolk.

A huge thank you to all and bring on the next event!”
BBC Radio Suffolk Breakfast Show presenter Mark Murphy said, “This event kicks off an exciting week of fundraising at BBC Radio Suffolk and what a fantastic start to the week. A brilliant evening enjoyed by all.”
