Ear Care Practitioner

As a Ear Care Practitioner, you will have proven experience of working with patients in a medical or audiology environment, possess excellent interpersonal and influencing skills. You will also demonstrate strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise. Please note that your own transport is essential as this role will be undertaken in the Ipswich clinic and outside centres and/or patient homes within East Anglia (travel expenses paid in line with policy).

With ongoing training provided as required, this could be the ideal opportunity for you to develop a rewarding and fulfilling career within a caring and fun, team. You will provide safe ear syringing or microsuction, as well as advising on after care and making referrals as required.

This role requires a health care, nursing, hearing care/audiology or other medical qualification.

Apprentice Administrator / Receptionist

We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly and motivated individual to join our successful team here in Ipswich.  You will receive full training in-house in order to achieve your NVQ in either Business Administration or Customer Service, as well as gaining valuable experience and new skills. You will be trained to undertake a variety of tasks including greeting patients and visitors, dealing with telephone enquiries, providing administrative support to our team of audiologists, updating our database and processing of orders.   
In order to be successful, you will need a minimum of 3 GCSE Grade 4 (Grade C or equivalent) (or predicted) or above, including English. You will also be IT literate, have excellent communication skills and good attention to detail.


The overall purpose of this role is to support the day to day running of a small team, in the provision of a full reception/administrative support service to the audiologists within the business.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Greeting and welcoming patients and visitors with the highest degree of customer service
  • Dealing with enquiries both by telephone and in
  • Keeping the practice tidy and identifying where improvements can be made in customer service, cleanliness and security
  • General typing to include: confidential reports, letters, emails
  • Maintaining appointments diary for patients, across all clinics
  • Liaising with dispensers where necessary
  • Updating the company database in an accurate and timely manner
  • Accurate and timely processing of new orders and repairs
  • Processing post received
  • Maintenance of warranty scheme when required
  • Tracking of stock aids
  • Ordering and monitoring of practice supplies e.g. stationery, leaflets, batteries, hearing aid accessories

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience within a Receptionist/Administration role and be completely computer literate.  You will also have excellent customer service experience.

The successful candidate will be required to work within the days of Monday – Saturday between the hours of 8.45am and 5.15pm with one hour for lunch. The hours of this post (30-37.5) are flexible and we are happy to discuss options. The hourly pay starting rate is £8.50 per hour.
