The Hearing Care Centre wins prestigious Investors in People award
The Hearing Care Centre has today been granted Investors in People status in recognition of the way it cares for its staff and involves them in the business.
The Hearing Care Centre, which is based in High Street, Ipswich and is led by Managing Director Karen Finch, has just received news of the award following a review of the Company’s business process during late 2009.
“We’re really pleased to start 2010 with this recognition, it verifies the quality management of the team here,” said Karen, “if we had a flagpole we’d run up a flag!”
The Hearing Care Centre has previously won awards for its people development methods including the national Chamber of Commerce Business Award and most recently the EADT’s unique ‘Year of Skills’ award.
IiP is the national award that sets a level of good practice for training and development of staff to achieve the goals of the organisation.
The Investors in People assessor said The Hearing Care Centre was: “very creative in its use of both internal and external resources for training and development activities” adding that the staff were well motivated and clearly enjoyed coming to work.
The team of twelve runs The Hearing Care Centre in Ipswich and twelve satellite centres right across Suffolk including sites in Bury St Edmunds, Felixstowe, Hadleigh, Stowmarket and most recently Newmarket.
The Company was set up by Karen Finch in 1998 – at that time she was a single mum and mortgaged her home to raise the finance.
